This is a 100% crop of the image i posted on 11 January. There's no USM around her face, her chin is showing under the bar, no conversion...I wonder if she's smiling...she does seem 'content'...
Just thought it might be interesting to see what I started with...there is some noise because I was shooting at 400iso...i've been playing with and liking the grain at this high iso number...my old d60 isn't very good with noise, i mean it's not smooth as you get up to 400 and above but i like what it does, and it's scrumptuous for black and white...

Thanks for the explanation on this shot from a few days ago...in the context of those comments this one is even more interesting.
By the way I really like the rhythm of the green bars on this crop and the grain is lovely...some photos it really works on and this is one. Normally i'd have said that I'd love to see it in B&W but the colour's on this one are too good.

@Ian Bramham: the tramway design is very interesting...i get the sense that it was designed as a giant playroom for adults, bright, pleasing colors, big rounded shapes in the seating and bars, an environment made so stressed people, adults, students, etc. would find themselves a bit lulled into a less aggressive mood...
i'm liking the color and grain this old d60 gives...the lovely rhythm of bars and colors in this tramway do have a nice feel...but dear lord, it took me a while to appreciate...the greens and reds aren't very earthy, natural...
i hope to buy a modern dslr this april and see 'improvement'...i know the tool will be faster, agile, i'd like for the grain to be as good or better...i'm kinda leaning nikon, maybe d300 but waiting to see if canon presents some new things between now and april...
