Ras le Bol

Posted by
M. David Taub (Montpellier, France) on 1 February 2009 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

Here's the first of three b&w street photos for Damon's challenge...I'm sure these aren't my 'best'...just recent life happening all around me...I don't even know what 'best' means...

29 January 2009 protest march in Montpellier against the deteriorating living conditions in France. Indictment of Sarkozy and his government. Slowly, very slowly, people here are finally seeing how much talk and how little action Sarkozy is. And if they hadn't seen the side of him that is a little dictator before they're seeing it now. Finally. Fellow politicians are accusing him of acting like a prince. He's getting that from members of his own party. And imagine, France has another three years to endure this egomaniac. Ras le bol is french for 'fed up'.

This is the first of three days worth of street photography in black & white. See link below for details...thanks Damon...

NIKON D700 1/4000 second F/5.6 ISO 400 35 mm (35mm equiv.)

American Suburb X. Off the beaten path photography and interviews of some famous and not so famous photographers. Some I love, some I hate, but the content is nearly always provocative. A great mix of different styles, subject matter, and perspective on what photography can be. Enjoy.
